Meet the sweetest most happiest of pups: Bernard!

You all may remember a few months ago when we had Will Ferrell in dog form: Blue.  Well, let us introduce Bernard: the John C Reilly to his Will Ferrell.  The Cal to his Ricky Bobby. The Dale to his Brennen. Like John, Bernard is America’s sweetheart. He is so sweet and loving. He loves to stick close to his people as well as play with dogs. Given a choice he would stay with human. As Dale (Step Brothers) would say “This is going to sound weird, but for a second, I think you took on the shape of a Unicorn”.  He is a heinz 57 mix of dogs around 65ish lbs at approximately a year and a half old.

Bernard's love for humans can be seen in this big ole expressive eyes. His heart on his sleeve, he will make you happy if it’s the last thing he does. “it maybe not be as fancy as being president, but its my duty and it’s a big duty” (Wreck-It Ralph)

Bernard is a fairly quiet boy, an apartment would work for him fine as long as he was given the opportunity for lots of walks.    A toy fanatic who will play with ALL the toys; a game of tug is something he is almost always up for. He genuinely likes to be petted and will direct you with his paws to that special spot on his chest he likes best. When he loves, he loves hard.

In the weeks his foster has had him he’s learned these things called boundaries and has come a long way and honestly he has the potential to be an amazing Emotional Support Animal or a first time dog for anyone. He is so effortlessly goofy, and rarely stays on all four feet, choosing to assume the position for belly rubs. When he sees you and his tail wags, his entire body folds in half and wags.
He really just wants his human. Could you be HIS human? Bernard sure hopes so.

Bernard's adoption fee is $375 which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue’s care.  We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed, are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website
