Hi. My name is Fera! My foster mom says I'm a very special girl (with very pretty eyes) who needs a very special adopter. I come from the streets of Texas. I've never had my own home, my own bed, my own dog bowl or my own person to love me. I'm trying really hard to accept love from my foster mom. I like when she sits on the floor with me and plays tug-o-war, but I am pretty shy when she tries to reach out and touch me. I forget that she isn't going to hurt me! I get scared when I hear loud noises and don't like chaos. I also really need a fenced in yard as my first reaction is to runnnnnn if I get scared! My current foster home is very mellow, but I know my kennel is my safe space and enjoy being in there with the door open. I love my foster brothers and would love to be in a home with another fur sibling. I'm really good at following the pack and it gives me confidence, to follow the leader. I also am learning to walk on a leash and I don't pull much at all. I'm hoping to get some hiking in this summer! If you have a calm home, the time and patience to help me understand what love feels like, maybe a fur buddy who needs a pal, or a walking partner, I might be the one for you. I really hope to find someone who chooses to love me, for the rest of my life! (and give me ice cream!)
Update 12/2022 - Fera is a special girl looking for a special adopter, someone who is willing to provide her a quiet home and earn her trust. Fera has worked very hard over the last 9 months learning to accept affection and loves a good ear scratch. She loves other dogs, treats and to play tug-o-war. Fera is a very shy girl and often uses her kennel as a safe space, but just recently found her “spot” on the couch. She is 100% potty trained and looking for a calm home with a patient adopter who is willing to show her what love feels like.
