Hi there. My name is Hudson, but my foster mom calls me Huddy or Weirdo, and I’m a Powderpuff Chinese Crested. I’m not naked because I’m sick..I’m naked because that’s what my breed is like…we’re all mostly hairless! You’d think that would be a problem up here in the Great White North, but I’ve got lots of jackets and pajamas to keep me warm…plus, I love, love, love to cuddle under a blanket with my people!
Speaking of people….I love them. I love kids. I love ladies. I love men. If you’re a two-legger, we can be besties…but I’m a little bit particular about my dog friends. I’m sort of selfish with my toys and chewies, and will growl at any other dog that looks at them, so I’d do best either as an only dog, or with a dog that doesn’t really mind sharing. If there aren’t toys or chewies around, I like to play with other dogs. In my current house, I love to chase and bark at the other dogs…until they turn around, then I realize how big they are and I run away, but I like it when they chase me.
I would also do best in a home where I can be left to roam when my humans aren’t home because I really, really, really don’t like kennels. I will scratch myself raw trying to get out. I’m really good loose in the house….although, sometimes I do use the bathroom in there…especially if I’m not let out right away in the morning. I’m not a fan of going outside in the snow, but my foster mom just puts booties and a jacket on me, and then I’ll run through the snow with the big dogs to do my business, no problem.
The last thing is that I am an allergy dog. I have indoor and outdoor allergies, but I am currently on a 10 month course of allergy shots that help keep them in check. My foster mom gives me a shot once every couple days, and I’m really good about getting them. I don’t mind at all. My foster mom keeps my nails cut short so that I can’t damage my skin when it’s itchy, and I’m really good about getting them cut too….I just lay on my back and she snip-snip-snips them short. Easy peasy.
My foster mom says to tell you that she’ll miss me a lot, and that whoever gets me has to promise to only use her for dog sitting if you have to go on vacation without me. If she had more room she would 100% keep me, but my foster sisters don’t really want a little brother.
If you’d like to meet me, reach out to Northern Lakes Rescue and we can get together and see if this is a love match!
Hudson’s adoption fee is $350 which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue’s care.
We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website www.northernlakesrescue.org
