Loki is a sweet, 6/7 month old light brindle pittie. He is a typical pittie, and loves to play and snuggle. He is making progress with training, knows sit, stay, no, and down thus far. He is crate trained, and hasn’t had any potty accidents in there. While the humans are eating he goes and sits in the crate while the door is open, as he is learning no begging. He enjoys playing all day long with his resident dog brother(s) until he’s ready for a nap.
On arrival, Loki had quite a bit of food insecurity. It was evident that he likely wasn’t fed enough or had to find his own food in some way or another. He would inhale his food. Now, he’s slowed down while eating. He isn’t bothered by humans touching him or his food while eating. He’s a little more reactive to dogs checking out his food. He currently eats with 2 other dogs, and he continues to make progress.
Loki is currently using a beeping e collar for training, and is doing well. He knows the beep sound, and acknowledges he needs to stop, or he’s doing something he shouldn’t be doing. He hasn’t practiced leash training, as he is currently at a home in the country. He LOVES to run and play in the snow with the resident dogs. A good toy to chew on is top notch for Loki.
Currently, his human housemates include a 13 and 5 year old kiddos. He enjoys them both. He has no experience with cats. Loki would likely fit anywhere, but he would love to have a friend to play with and/or an active family. He will with no doubt be a great addition to any family. He loves to love and is learning so much already!
Loki’s adoption fee is $425 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations appropriate at the time of adoption, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue’s care.
We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed, are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website www.northernlakesrescue.org
