Hi Everybody! I came to the rescue with a weird name. They called me Mr. Weiner. One look at me and the rescue couldn't keep a straight face! What kind of name is that? My new foster mom calls me Reggie and that is more my style.
They also call me a unicorn. Am I? I think so! I'm awesome! I am trained in several commands and I am a pretty gentle dude.
Anyone that has met me says I am the perfect starter dog for a first time dog owner. Live in a rental? I'm the perfect size at 35-40lbs! No shared walls tho as I like to tell bugs and squirrels to get off my property. I have had ZERO accidents which is amazing because let me tell you what, I need my yard to smell just like me! If you mention the word 'ride' I am all ears and down to go anywhere with you on leash. My downfall is my nose... where it goes, I go (or where the jerk squirrels go) and my ears magically turn off. Funny how that works isn't it? Since my ears magically tune out the world, I need a fenced yard or a tie out. Be aware I can also be a little Houdini at times too. I dunno who that is, but it sounds fun (foster mom disagrees)!
I'm a polite, well mannered little dude that just wants a person to love and the occasional adventure. Hiking would be a blast! I'd love to learn more tricks and fun things too, more training would rock!
I have not been around kids but I can't imagine I wouldn't like respectful ones? Cats I smelled them, I may chase them, but I have not actually been tested with them. I like other dogs, but am not super playful with them. I respect their space and ask they respect mine too.
I'm excited to meet my new BFF!
Reggie's adoption fee is $375 which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue’s care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed, are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website www.northernlakesrescue.org
