Myrtle is such a sweet girl, but also shy and timid around new people. Once she trusts you, her playful personality really shines. She loves playing with our resident dog, and she has a good balance of resting and playing. She is great on walks, and responds well to redirection if she gets too excited about a squirrel. In the house, she likes to lay and chew on a bone most of the time. She is curious about our cat, but when told to "leave it," she will walk away. She really wants to please her humans and has responded well to some basic training. She just started learning about crate training, and doesn't make a peep once she gets in it. She gains a lot of confidence from watching and being around our resident dog, and would greatly benefit from another dog in her forever home. She is a joy to have around, and she needs an owner that can give her the time and patience she needs to fully trust them. Around 50 pounds and just 6 months old, this BIG girl has a lot of love to give.
From Myrtle herself:
Hi. My name is Myrtle, but you can call me Princess. I demand only the best. I will bring my bed from the bedroom to the couch to have a more comfortable place to sleep. I don’t know why my foster mom is trying to discourage me from a future career as an interior designer! I like to rearrange a lot of things to make them more comfortable for me. I want my all my toys to be close too. I sure like my toys! And my foster siblings. We’re always on the run. I’m growing so fast though, I’ll be bigger than them very soon. I’m going to need a new home with a bigger place to run off all this puppy energy. Some little people to run with would be great too. Are you looking for a princess to spoil?
Myrtle 's adoption fee is $425 plus MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations appropriate at the time of adoption, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue’s care.
We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed, are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website www.northernlakesrescue.org
