Hello! This is Oswald or Ossie as he prefers to be called. He is a 98 pound lab great dane mix, we think. He is super goofy and silly and loves to be by his human on the couch (upside down if you're lucky), playing with toys or playing tug with another big dog.
Ossie is pretty shy and can take awhile to warm up, but once he does, man its big love, huge love! Since he is shy he's going to need a very special person to continue working on socializing with hoomans. He really does like them, but new humans and places kind of freak him out a little and he can go into stealth pancake mode. Think: Scooby Doo. Scooby is great with his core group of people, but once he sees that ghost its "ohh noooo" and he wants to scramble to get away. Then, once he gets to know the human behind the ghosty costume he is fine! He's a dane mix with a pretty dane like personality.
He is pretty young yet (under 2) and has no idea how big he is and loves to lay on laps and play with other dogs jumping around them so very awkwardly with his long daddy long leg legs. He just doesn't know where they go! He would be best with a very confident sturdy older big dog that also likes to play tug and no littles (he doesn't want to eat them, but he could possibly hurt them by stepping on them wrong). He does pretty good at keeping himself entertained if he is alone, but does take social cues from other dogs when it comes to people. A fenced in yard is a must for this boy to feel safe.
Once comfortable, Ossie is a very loving giant baby dog that will make you laugh forever with his silly antics. He's so very special and needs that special human to be his! One of his funny quirks is that he likes to bring gifts of socks, toys, or sticks to his favorite person. He fetches once or twice but has determined that is enough exercise for the moment. He knows the word "no" but can't figure out what sit means (getting closer tho!). He can crate himself if he can *see* the treat you are holding. He's messing with his foster mom, she knows he's a smart smol pony. That's ok though, as his foster mom loves him anyway.
Oswald's adoption fee is $400 which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue’s care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed, are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are.
