I am ready for my furever home! I came into this wonderful rescue at 16 pounds and with a condition called Persistent Right Aortic Arch and Mega Esophagus. I had surgery on September 30th, 2019 to correct the aortic abnormality and am doing very well post surgery. I am currently on a mix of softened kibble and canned food diet. I just turned 2 on Valentine’s Day, but will always be a little pitty. I currently weigh 40 pounds. I am a typical sassy pitty with the zoomies. I love chew toys, peanut butter filled Kongs, antlers, bully sticks and squeaky toys. Sticks are fun too but I need to be watched close with those because of my prior medical issues. I am somewhat okay with cats, I like to play but am sometimes too rough. I would be more successful without them. I am good with other dogs but I am an alpha so I need to be the only dog, due to this and other experiences I have had with dogs in my foster home. For example, I have to be in charge of all the toys and food - serious applicants for me should have breed experience and no other pets. I've seen chickens but haven't been alone with them. I walk well on a leash and am tie-out trained. I am also kennel trained. Because we were doing so much fundraising to pay for my surgery, I have my own Facebook page. If you'd like to know more about me, please hop over there and introduce yourself. You can see my whole journey from the day I arrived. My foster mom updates it all the time. @SabrinaNLR or Sabrina at Northern Lakes Rescue is where you'll find me on FB.
