Why Do Rescues Have Adoption Fees?

Along with daily care costs, the adoption fees help Northern Lakes Rescue cover vaccination and medical prep costs for the dogs. At adoption, Northern Lakes Rescue dogs will be current on their vaccines and will have the following:

Adoption Fees:

    • $425 + MN Tax ($454.22)- Puppies/Dogs aged between 8 weeks through 2 year
    • $400+ MN Tax ($427.50) - Dogs aged over 2 9 years
    • $300 + MN Tax $320.63)- Dogs aged 9 years and older

Adoption Inclusions:

Along with daily care costs, the adoption fees help Northern Lakes Rescue cover vaccination and medical prep costs for the dogs. At adoption, Northern Lakes Rescue dogs will be current on their vaccines (to age) and will have the following:

  • Rabies (1 yr. or 3 yr.)
  • Distemper (DHLPP or DHLPP-C)
  • Bordetella
  • Heartworm
  • Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichiosis Test (as needed)
  • Altered - Females Spayed or Males Neutered
  • Micro-chipped
